De Beers diamonds: with Country of Origin Information by 2025

De Beers Group has announced a new step towards more transparency in the diamond industry. Starting in 2025, the company will provide specific country of origin data for all rough diamonds over 1 carat registered on its Tracr platform. This move aligns with new G7 import requirements for diamonds and reinforces De Beers' commitment to ethical sourcing and consumer confidence. Previously, Tracr provided ‘DTC’ origin for all registered diamonds sourced from De Beers Group, confirming that the diamond originated from one of the Group’s operations in either Botswana, Canada, Namibia or South Africa. The announcement was made at the 'Spotlight on Diamonds' event in Paris, where De Beers also highlighted its sustainability efforts as part of its 'Building Forever' framework.
